im 15 and i have 1 tatoo and 3 peirsings and i work at tims so you can basicly work anywere as long as you put like a bandaid over it
well ive had 3 jobs, one in a tattoo studio which doesnt count plus i still work there, but one was in a shop, i never got told to cover up ink but i was asked to wear a stud not a ring in my lip. i also work as a professional freelance designer, i wear a small stud in my lip when i meet clients and i wear a long sleeved blouse. that’s my choice though, as long as you’re good at your job it hardly matters in most places these days.
all depends on your boss though as to how much, if anything you have to cover and how visible it is. most places around here don’t care about ink as long as it’s not offensive.
I have 13 piercings and 4 tattoos
I went to lots of professional job interviews. Every place wanted me to take out my piercings. Well now I am a semi truck driver. My piercings and tattoos are who I am. Don’t give up keep looking for the right job.
I have tattoos and piercings and I am a teacher (one of the few jobs you’re still expected to be totally conservative). I am just conscious of covering them up while at work. It gets a bit more difficult when coaching, but my tattoos are all tasteful so they aren’t controversial. I wear small, almost unnoticeable studs in my ears and tongue at work, and switch on the weekends. My advice, be conservative with when/how you display your body art, and over time people will get used to seeing it, and by then you’ll have proved to be a valuable employee.
here where i live, in the bible belt….factories. and its hard work, and sorry to say but even they frown on it. if they arent visible or you can hide them behind clothes then do so and you should be able to do whatever you are qualified for, if not many of the higher quality cosmetics companies make tattoo cover up…its a heavy foundation basically. depending on how long you have had your piercings in i would suggest just removing them while at work. this sucks i know but for some reason people still judge us based on how we look, and even tho society has accepted that it is ok for men they still frown on women with more than 1 tattoo or anything but our ears pierced. equal rights applies to hiring based on sex but still discriminates and that needs to be changed only no one listens cuz they think if we look this way we must be lower class, when in reality many of our artwork costs more than their suits and business attire. Hopefully the day will come when the stereotype of pierced tattoo people being motorcyle riding thugs will end but unfortunately i dont forsee it happening in my lifetime. i am pierced and tattooed and have an awsome resume with letters of recomendation from very respectable people in the town where i live, i have way more business and office management experience and ask for alot less $ than several others who apply for these types of positions in my area and i am often passed over because i do not look the way they think i should because i am tattooed and pierced even tho i offer to cover the tattoos for work and remove the piercing in the office. and sorry but the law does not protect us. now if i were disfigured groteskly from a wreck or birth defect then yes it would, so i am sorry to say it but unless you have artistic talent to work in a tattoo parlor or a hot topic where us not so average looking people are welcome, then there isnt much out there for us that isnt physically demanding and extremely difficult and even there you will be treated differently because you are a woman filling a job most people believe belongs to a man.
all of the girls who work at claires have at least 3 piercings (that you can see, at least…)
Anywhere, as long as you can cover them if need be.
